Healthy and Nutritious food for toddlers!!

Welcome My all lovelies πŸ™‚

At the outset I want to Congratulate all of you, who already got their little bundle of joy and also to them who all are expecting. πŸ˜€

Its the amazing and best feeling.

But…… this best and amazing feeling comes with huge responsibilities. I know since the time we conceive this happiness inside us, we all start worrying about all the random and obvious things. Though its managing Finances or health (Mental & Physical), taking care of the little one simultaneously of yourself or the errands.

With all these one major worry of all the mothers out there is Nutrition. How to provide all the essential nutrients to the little one. Today on this block I am going to share my views on Baby’s nutrition and healthy food.

For the mothers who all are expecting or have just conceived I will soon write a blog on food to take or avoid during the 9 months.

A Healthy and Nutritious Meal

My daughter Shambhavi is 14 months old and an official toddler now :D. She is bit picky on her food and taste. She likes sugary food and hates formula or cow’s milk. Yes, she is a complete breastfed kid.

But like every other mother I also get worried about her diet because she is a breastfeeding kid I have to provide all other sort of dairy products to her.

Here is the list :-

  • Flavoured yogurt (No added Sugar) I prefer Olympic andΒ Liberte
  • Cheese (Cottage Cheese or Parmesan)
  • Homemade Curd
  • Pudding
  • Smoothies

These products are all good source of Protein, Calcium and many other Vitamins.

(For My Indian Friends :- I prefer Epigamia Yougurt )

When Shambhavi was an infant I was visiting india and for that time I used to give her formula milk twice a day or when I am not around (for shopping or other errands).I preferred Nestle Nan Pro and had fed her till 6 Stages. you can shop these products on Amazon as well.

Its easy to full the tummy but difficult to provide all the vital nutrients to the baby. Second thing comes to my acknowledge for her is proper intake of Proteins. For protein……………….

Here is the List :-

  • Egg White (Boiled and Omelet)
  • Lentils (Boiled Red Beans and Black eye Beans)
  • Chicken (Grilled or Tossed)
  • Fish
  • Boiled Broccoli. She hates it completely. πŸ™‚

We are an Indian by ethnicity and occasional meat eaters. For me this list gets shorter. so I have many other recipes to make same food interesting each time. πŸ˜€ Then comes the minerals and vitamins. Fruits and Veggies are the main source of all kind of minerals and vitamins. Shambhavi is picky when comes to fruits and veggies. I have noticed she likes to eat the fruit which is more colorful than good in taste.

Here is the list of Fruits and Veggies :-

  • Berries (Good source of antioxidants)
  • Banana
  • Papaya
  • Cantaloupe
  • Water Melon
  • Grapes (I prefer Giving her Red Grapes because of the color)
  • Potato
  • Tomato
  • Broccoli
  • Cucumber
  • Green peas
  • Sweetpotato
  • Spinach & Kale
  • Carrots
  • Seasonal Veggies and Fruits

I love cooking and try different sorts of recipe to keep her interest and taste. I always prefer her giving family meals so that she picks up the taste and texture of the food. She likes eating Pasta and Rice. And the most important part is the time, try to feed your baby on same time every day. Shuffle the food for developing his or her taste of every food. So that they won’t stick to same type of taste. by doing this you will get to know your child’s likes and dislikes.

and at the last i want to add that nobody knows a baby or baby’s need more than a mother, follow your instincts and you will have an answer for everything, what is good for your baby and what’s not. πŸ™‚

I hope this blog suffices and provide the information you guys are seeking.

I tried to keep this blog simple and informative for you all, please let me know in the comments if you have any question or disagreement with this. πŸ™‚

Caio for the next Blog. πŸ™‚

Stay tuned πŸ™‚
